The Newbury in Bloom 2021 campaign is now underway.
This year’s Newbury in Bloom will take place in a different way, to ensure the safety of entrants and judges as a result of the Covid pandemic.
The campaign aims to improve the appearance of our town and environment, making Newbury a greener, cleaner and more pleasant place to live, as well as promoting horticultural excellence.
So the Town Council is expanding five of the most appropriate awards. The categories this year will be:
- Neighbourhood – 5 or more properties working together (including alms-houses & canal boats)
- Community Projects – any community or group working together.
- Places of Worship or Assembly
- Miniature Garden – window box, hanging basket, window displays
Awards will be presented for current and ongoing projects. Projects can be of any size, small or large.
There are three ways for entrants to get involved with the campaign. You can submit a video to the Town Council via a YouTube link, send a photographic portfolio, or the judges can visit you in person, if regulations permit.
If you would like to enter and have a go, all of the information can be found on the Town Council website https://www.newbury.gov.uk/community-services/newbury-in-bloom/ . Or you can email email@example.com or call Newbury Town Council on 01635 35486.
Closing date for initial submissions is 31 May 2021. Judging for the competition will take place week commencing 19 July 2021.
