Having been the 'Her' to a 'Hitman' called Steve working on a mobile 'Laser discoteque' in the late 80s, Ali volunteered to hand out leaflets for Kennet Radio but ended up presenting a show. It's always better to try and fail than to regret not giving it a go!
A new presenter to the team and looking forward to getting on the air soon.
A refugee from 1960's offshore pirate radio (Radio England) I have always loved music. I worked as a mobile DJ for some years in the 80's and 90's and now write music reviews in the local press. My musical tastes cross many genres and I have a particular interest in music that is off the beaten track as opposed to mainstream.
Carol presents her Friday Showcase on the 1st Friday of the month playing tracks that stand the test of time, what ever the genre, from Nina Simone to Tom Misch. She loves to celebrate the musicians behind the recordings having grown up with a dad who was an musical arranger, so it's in her DNA. Strangely enough she chose nursing as a career.
Loving the thought of a radio station for the local area I joined Kennet Radio at the start of the adventure. Radio was the background to my life, I love music (being married to a musician it is a good job that I do). I am an enthusiastic member of Rock Choir and had the amazing expierience of recording at Abbey Road. I produced and presented Weekend Woman on Sunday's for the first few years when we were online. So here we are on FM and Kennet Radio is your voice, your station and I have my own show on Saturday morning when I am Let Loose in the studio to have fun and entertain you with music from all era's and chat about this and that.
Hi I'm Carolyn LuckyGirl I'm an Acupuncturist and Meditation coach and have a passion for all things health and personal development. I have worked with some of the best minds in this field and aim to interview as many of them as possible to bring their wisdom to you to help you – whatever you may be facing in life. You can check out all of my previous interviews as there are two years of replays available! My biggest inspiration for doing this show is Annie Mac from radio 1. So, following in her footsteps, you will hear as much feel good uplifting music as I can get my hands on to give you music and well being for your Friday night!
I present the Kennet Radio Wednesday morning mid-week breakfast show from 7-10am and sometimes my own Soul music show – Chris' Soul Selection. I have been into Soul music from my teens, helped out various DJ friends in my youth but only got to present my own show on Kennet Radio in 2014 and was hooked! Although I have a broad interest in Soul, Funk and R&B, my main personal interest is Northern Soul – I still collect rare 7 inch vinyl's. My day job is with a local charitable trust and I am also a qualified cycling coach. Live in Hampshire, UK now (via London) but originally made in Staffordshire.
I've been a presenter and general volunteer at Kennet Radio for just over 2 years. My first experience of presenting for Kennet Radio was 'The Chris & Co Show' where I would interview interesting guests and play some of their favourite music, a 'Desert Island Disc' type format. I now present or co present the following shows: 'Friday Afternoon Delight' 'Saturday Sport' and 'A-Z of Rock' every third week of the month. From a personal perspective I took early retirement in 2016 as I was keen to get away from the drudge and stress of 'Corporate Life' and focus on giving something back in the community. With local radio being a passion of mine for some considerable time and it's Kennet Radio I thank for giving me the opportunity to do so. I also dome some voluntary work within the Lambourn Valley where I live, I'm chairman of the local Village Hall, and I also play drums in a covers band primarily playing rock. So basically I'm an extremely busy boy!.
I started Broadcaster back in 1976 presenting my "Classic Gold" show. Traveling all over Europe for a few months to a couple of years at a time. When I came back to the U.K. I started presenting my Classic Gold show on a Sunday night at Radio Frimley Park, now retired from my show I can still be seen on their outside broadcast teams mainly at Frimley Green Carnival in the summer. With music in my blood I just had to get back into broadcasting and Kennet Radio fell my way, I am about to be presenting the mid morning show Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 1pm. Please feel free to contact me for a mention for Birthdays, Weddings and anniversaries or just call in to say Hi. I Look forward to hearing from you.

I work at John Lewis in Newbury now but have had a varied career usual involving music or the gadgets that play it. Conferences, retail and computers have been the main focus. I present the Kennet Radio breakfast show on Monday and Tuesday 7am to 10 am. Included will be a great music, traffic, weather and local events.
I'm a former national newspaper journalist and the author of a funny – or so I claim – grammar book, For Who the Bell Tolls. I took early retirement from The Guardian to spend more time with my record collection, from which I play stuff on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 9-11pm on my show, The Beat Goes On – a quirky, eclectic selection of great music, popular and unpopular, from the last half century or so.
a.k.a. Shaolin Drunken Monk

Part of the KOTG clan and the shorter half of the Beat's & Pieces duo. Has a big passion for all things Electronica, especially Indie Dance, Nu Wave Disco and good bit of down tempo chug. Big fan of the mighty Hartnoll Brothers (Orbital) and the Guv Andrew Weatherall among many others.
I joined Kennet Radio in July 2018 – I work locally and live near Reading. Before Kennet Radio, the last time I broadcast to Newbury and Thatcham was from a ship (to be fair we covered much of Europe too). I think community radio, like Kennet Radio, that arguably the sea based pioneers helped bring about, is the better way to connect with the local audience, mixing what's going on with music in an entertaining and personal way. Also the desk stays level in a Force 9. I'm delighted to join the team and look forward to talking to you soon!
Ray is quite new to broadcasting compared to some of the old hands, and has a day job in IT project management. He is a self-confessed train nut, and also enjoys photography and growing his own food. He also loves all kinds of music and enjoys finding unusual cover versions to share with Kennet Radio listeners. Originally from London but now a long term resident of Newbury.
Retired now but had a wide and varied career. Banking, Record Industry, Fashion & even a Government Quango. Presenter every Wednesday between 1.00 & 4.00pm. ‘Music the Way You Like It' The programme spans decades of music from the Nifty 50s, 60s, 70s & Glorious 80s. It’s time to reminisce with Roger Scott right here on Kennet Radio.
Been passionate about radio since I was about 4 years old, that was a very long time ago now. A lot has changed, including me, but producing great, interesting or fun radio is still a passion … now I just have to learn how to do it 😉 Looking forward to meeting you all!
Newly joined Political Editor and presenter of Political and social interest shows on Kennet Radio interspersed with music that tells the tales of political and social struggle. Self employed consultant specialising in Change Management, Fraud Prevention and Corporate Governance. Interested in life, history, travel, people, and music that tells a story. Love sharing this with all that listen.
Covering all the local football on Kennet Radio together with playing the best of British from the past and brand new undiscovered acts from across the uk
Unlike other Kennet Radio presenters Stephen is very much the "new boy" to radio having got sucked-in after being a guest on Get it on with Garry. Stephen's only previous radio experience was as a student as part of a team running a popup station for rag week (we won't say just how many years ago). Stephen moved to Newbury in 1984 working for a number of years at Norsk Data before working in London for Channel Four and taking up the grind of commuting by train. He has been a steward at Arlington Arts for many years and is a trustee of ACE Space and an instructor at Shalbourne Gliding. Although devoid of any music making ability live music consumes much of his time these days. Stephen presents Folk Ace which covers folk/roots/Americana gigs coming up in and around Newbury and Thatcham (4th Tuesday of the month) and interviews with guests involved with live music (2nd Tuesday of the month).
Originally from Lincolnshire, Stephen has spent most of his professional career in IT and Telecommunications. He has an interesting background including being in the police and later working for a political party before becoming and elected politician himself. Nowadays he tries to eke out a living as a journalist. Having written for various magazines and online publications, his focus is now on TV and Radio. Stephen is passionate about community media and is excited about joining Kennet Radio.
Steve has been presenting Different Shades of Blues on Kennet Radio since early 2017. He got involved accidentaly after being a guest on Garry Paulson's 'Get it out with Garry' show. Steve's interest in the blues started back in 1960 when he first heard Howling Wolf's 'Smokestack Lightning'. His musical interests encompass most genres although he considers blues, rock, jazz and folk as being at the top. He worked in the technical side of the music and consumer electronics industry for over twenty years. Although born in east Berkshire, Steve has lived in the Newbury area since 1971.
I started work with Kennet Radio during the early stages of the FM project with a show on Saturday afternoon, nestled between the Saturday Sports show and Keep Off The Grass. My show is an eclectic mix of music, a wander through our music libraries here in "The Crow's Nest". My shows are tightly scheduled (ha ha) and prone to diversion on the spur of the moment, often prompted by a listener comment or request. I hope you'll join me and be part of the madness!
What can I say that has not already been said by others?! Sort of stuck in the 80s as my Delorean broke down due to dodgy mechanics. There is no way back so I appear to be stuck listening to Duran Duran, The Police, Nena & many, many more on my Walkman with orange headphones, whilst rewinding last nights video taped recording of Top of the pops. The 80s were of course the days when a platform was a place where you caught a train & you took a tablet for headaches. Remember to tune in every Tuesday 21.00 – 23.00 for more of the same!! Oh and in my spare time I work!!
Founder of the Darklands show. Steve ploughs through a back catalogue of noise, fuzz, Shoegaze, post punk and indie pop. He also mixes it up with new releases from the left field.
Hi there, I'm Tony, a lover of amazing music from across the decades. I have been involved in music, events and radio in different ways since I was a teenager. I adore, disco, soul, funk, motown, club classics and just music in general.
