The sun shines on One Community Cricket and Family Fun Day

The One Community Cricket and Family Fun Day was a sizzling success at Falkland Cricket Club today.

Brilliant sunshine greeted 12 local teams who turned out to compete for the silver One Community Cup.

Community United organised the event, for its second year, to bring together diverse local communities in a celebration of sport and family fun.

Berkshire Youth offered entertainment and activities for young people, and Kennet Radio provided a musical backdrop to the day. There were a wide variety of stalls offering ethnic street food and representing a range of community organisations.

West Berkshire Muslim Centre beat last year’s winners, Thames Valley Police, into second place, to win the cup in the cricket competition.

Newbury Mayor Councillor Gary Norman opened the event and can be seen in the middle of our event photos below. All the photos are by Franco Agresta.
