Popular Newbury Head Teacher Retires

Tributes have been pouring in for one of Newbury’s most popular and highly regarded Head Teachers who retired on Friday.

After 17 years as Head Teacher of Park House School, Derek Peaple has decided to call it a day.

In his final blog on the school’s website last Friday, Mr Peaple reflected on the changes in the education system during the 33 years of his teaching career.  He points out that when he started teaching there were no school performance tables or OFSTED, and email and PowerPoint didn’t exist as teaching aids.
