Newbury’s Women Rugby players need your help
Newbury Women’s Rugby Club need to make 4-6 hour journies to their away games this season.
The Rugby Football Union ran out of money to fund community rugby last year. So Newbury’s Women rugby players get no help with transport for their league commitments. They need funding to hire coaches or mini-buses. Otherwise they will need to go by car – meaning driving for up to six hours and playing 80 minutes of hard-fought rugby , all on the same day! That is not the way to win matches!
Could you or your company please sponsor Newbury Women’s Rugby club, as a one-off, to help them reach far-off games in Devon? They need to hire vehicles to get them to places like Ivybridge, Newton Abbot and Cullompton.
The women need just £1,085 to set them up for success in their league this season. They also have a shirt sponsorship scheme which you can join in with.
So far, between them, Wessex Woodland and Belvoir Estate Agents have been very generous and given £1,300 to help the women with their transport (the original target being £2,385).
