Flooding at Newbury Station

Train services today (Friday 5th January) are severely affected by flooding – as evidenced by the photo showing Newbury Station at 9:30 this morning with most of the rails under water.

GWR are reporting severe service issues across their network at the time of publishing this article. We recommend checking before you plan any travel at www.gwr.com

GWR say:

A minimal rail replacement service will be operating between the following stations:
– Newbury and Bedwyn
– Taunton and Castle Cary

Local bus ticket acceptance is in place on Jet Black buses between Newbury and Reading. They advise checking before you travel.
