Flooding around Newbury and Thatcham

Following the storms that passed through West Berkshire in the first week of January, by Sunday 7th January many areas of Newbury and Thatcham were suffering from flooding.

Crookham Hill was closed near to Thatcham Station due to rising water levels.

Water was also seen gushing across the towpath between the River Kennet and the canal immediately to the west of Thatcham Station.

Other areas impacted by flooding included the allotments off Lower Way in Thatcham, and also affected was the Northcroft Lane area of Newbury with properties sadly affected by flooding, and Northcroft Leisure Centre being closed due to the rising water affecting local roads.
