Victoria Park Family Day – 13th May 2018

Newbury Town Council will be holding a second Family Day in Victoria Park on Sunday 13 May from 10:30am to 4pm, following the success of last year’s event.

There will be entertainment throughout the day, which will include traditional Punch & Judy shows, face painting, Morris Dancing with the ‘Garston Gallopers’, dancing and singing on the Bandstand with the Ragtime Theatre School, Dr G’s Big Band and the Royal Wootton Bassett Brass band playing in the afternoon. Kennet Radio will be there too broadcasting live from the event.

The Bowls Club are happy to welcome new members and the Club will be open for everyone to look around and have a chat about membership and how you can get involved.

The tennis courts will be open too, and as part of the ‘Great British Tennis Weekend’, our coaches, the National Tennis Associaton, will be on hand to chat about classes and how you can get involved. Membership for a whole year for a family costs just £39 and with the new floodlighting, the courts are even more accessible for everyone and if you join on the day, you get 1 month’s free membership! You can even book a FREE coaching slot for the day, via our website: www.newbury.gov.uk/tennis

Newbury Town Council has recently purchased six new pedalos (using developer contribution monies) as the existing ones were over 8 years old and beyond their useful life. The pedalos and kayaks, hired out by the kiosk, have proved to be very popular over the years and they will be available to hire from the kiosk on the Family Day
