Still time to enter Newbury in Bloom!

The ‘Newbury in Bloom 2019’ campaign is now well underway with a number of entries already received at the Town Hall. Community groups, schools and all members of the community are encouraged to take part to help make Newbury ‘bloom’ during the summer months.

The 9 categories for the Newbury in Bloom campaign for 2019 are:

  • School Garden
  • Place of Worship Garden
  • Public House/Restaurant/Small Business
  • Allotment
  • Almshouses
  • Community Projects
  • Public Buildings

And features two extra categories this time:

  • Street
  • Canal Boat Floral Display

The campaign aims to improve the appearance of our town and environment and make Newbury a greener, cleaner and more pleasant place to live together with promoting horticultural excellence.

Entry forms are available from the Town Hall in the Market Place or you can apply online on Newbury Town Council’s website

Cllr Martin Colston, Leader of the Council said, “‘I am looking forward to being involved with the Newbury in Bloom campaign this year and its great that Newbury is also entering the Royal Horticultural Society’s national “Britain in Bloom” competition too and we have high hopes for our first entry for a number of years”.

Closing date for the Newbury in Bloom entries is 23 June 2019 and the judging will take place week commencing 1 July 2019.
