Paul James plays Ace Space

Local boy and Kennet Radio presenter Paul James is playing at Ace Space this Saturday at 8pm with his new band The Drowned Lovers.

Paul is best known as a member of the legendary folk band Blowzabella.

Recently Paul made his first solo album “The Drowned Lover and Other Dark Tales” which draws on his love of traditional folk songs with strong stories to tell.

The Drowned Lovers is a rock band that draws heavily on traditional folk music, folklore, world music and jazz influences and features top draw musician friends and collaborators.

This is their launch gig where they’ll be playing the whole album, a couple of great songs by local songwriter, the late great Des Simmons and maybe a couple of surprising cover versions.

That’s The Drowned Lovers, at Ace Space, this Saturday, 23rd March 2019, at 8pm. 

Entry is £12 on the door.
