Patron Saint celebrated…by golf club

A hugely successful day played out on Saturday at Donnington Grove Golf Club, celebrating St Georges Day. Originally the idea of member Kevin Beasley, who sadly died only days before the event, so the day was a mixture of memories, sadness and celebrations with 128 players playing pairs better ball. Winners were Jillian and Darren Powell with 47 points, in second place Adrian Monger and Jamie Gosling with 46 and third, Rob Cavill and Jason Axford, with 46, so an incredibly close battle. The raffle raised £680 for the Captains Charity, New Life, a provider of specialist disabled and terminally ill new born children.
