Founder of Thames Valley Kings receives Royal invitation
The founder of the Thames Valley Kings wheelchair basketball club has been invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.
Jacqueline Scoins-Cass MBE , 32, said she was “honoured” to be invited because of her volunteering work with the club since she established it back in 2004, aged 19.
The Thatcham based Wheelchair Basketball Club with Jacqueline at its helm has endeavored to provide a high-quality wheelchair basketball programme that is accessible to players of all ages and abilities. the club strives to support, inspire and become a social hub for everyone – believing that by actively encouraging both disabled and able-bodied players, the club can create a fun and engaging atmosphere. The Kings are the only UK wheelchair Basketball team to be awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services and have also won British Wheelchair Basketball’s Club of the Year and West Berkshire Community Group of the Year in 2016.
Jacqueline will be among the 1,200 members of the public who will be allowed into the grounds of Windsor Castle on 19th May and will be one of only five people from Berkshire who were picked to attend the big day by the Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire.
