Bartholomew Street closures this week
Bartholomew Street in Newbury will be closed on the dates and times below to enable Volker Highways to carryout Highway Improvements on behalf of West Berkshire Council
The works will go ahead between the hours of:
- 9.30am to 11.30pm on Tuesday 24th November 2020. However, the section of carriageway over the bridge will have to remain closed to traffic from 11.30pm until 8.00am Wednesday 25th November while specialist materials cure.
- 8.00am to 11.30pm Wednesday 25th November 2020
- 8.00am to 5.00pm Thursday 26th & Friday 27th November 2020
- PROVISIONAL – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday 28th November 2020 if bad weather has affected the programme.
During the road closure periods a signed diversion will be available.
Due to the narrowness of the carriageway and material being used emergency vehicles will NOT be allowed through the site.
These works are susceptible to rain and temperature and will have to be rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable. Information boards will be erected on site and will be updated as and when required if the programme changes. The UK Government has confirmed that the continuation of local infrastructure repairs is a key priority in light of the COVID 19 outbreak. All site staff involved will follow the guidelines to avoid spreading the virus.
