An opportunity to run the new Victoria Park Community Café
Newbury Town Council is looking for an operator who will take on the lease of its new Community Café currently being considered for construction in Victoria Park, Newbury. The Council is hopeful of gaining planning permission this month.
Members of the project Committee are inviting interested parties to join a ZOOM seminar planned for the evening of Wednesday 24 February 2021 to find out more about the project. They will then outline their proposals and how they see the café operating. The Committee will take questions in advance of asking for submissions of interest in operating the café.
A planning application has been submitted to West Berkshire District Council and it is hoped that the new Community Café will be ready to open in early 2022. The full Planning Application is available to view on the West Berkshire Council website: https://publicaccess.westberks.gov.uk/online-applications/ reference no. 20/02294/COMIND.
At the forefront of the proposal is the Council’s commitment to provide a Café that will operate 364 days per year and will be an important and valuable community hub for the Town. They also want to ensure that the new building is designed to enable carbon neutral operation. It will also have a toilet with baby changing facilities and disabled access, as well as male, female and disabled toilets for users of the Park.
If you are interested and wish to attend the ZOOM seminar on the evening of 24 February 2021 please email [email protected].
Formal notice of this event will be advertised shortly by the council.
