The Town Band wow!
Hungerford Town Band wowed its audience in the beautiful location of St Lawrence’s church, by the canal in Hungerford, on Saturday.
Their glorious concert sang out in celebration of St Lawrence’s church fund and the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. The immensely talented players played in ensemble and in solo, with many new and familiar pieces. Perhaps we all think we know Fly Me to the Moon but the evening’s rendition of the original 1954 waltz was little short of divine.
Attended by both the Mayor of Hungerford, Helen Simpson, and the Constable of Town & Manor of Hungerford, Julie Lloyd, the audience swayed and even danced to magical music, which finished with a ten-minute Essential Elton John medley of the best of that great musician and showman.
