Safer surface for kids’ play area

Recycled truck tyres are to be used to resurface the play area in Blossom’s Field, Wash Common from 10th August.

The existing surface has come to the end of its life and is flooding in wet weather.

The new surface, called “TigerMulch” is self-draining and sustainable.

This synthetic surface resembles loose woodchip. It stays where it is put as the particles are bound together by resin. The surface is easy to clean and is tested and certified to playground area safety surfacing standards.
