Man pleads guilty to assaulting 56 year old woman
Mark Singleton, aged 44, of Market Place, Newbury, pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 6 March.
He was given a 12 month conditional discharge and a restraining order until 5 March 2020.
On 13 January, Singleton assaulted a 56 year old woman at a property in Market Place, Newbury, causing bruising to the arms, face and body.
Singleton was charged with the offence on 13 January.
Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Andy Philpott, said,
“I am pleased with the outcome of this case. This kind of offence will not be tolerated in the communities we live in. The restraining order is vital in safeguarding the victim.”
