Friday Social – #UKHeatwave #Summerholidays #EnglishSummer
Tonight on Friday social we are talking all about the 2018 English summer, and how we here in West Berkshire are experiencing that. We are joined by Steve Johnson of Steve Johnson Garden Maintenance, Laura Cooper of Pink Spagetti, and Lis Allen of the Vagina Dialogues.
Also joining us will be Sukey Russell-Hayward, who is admin of a local Facebook page called Community Matters and organises CommuniTea.
Photographer Jane Body will also be in the studio. Her Jewells Farm 17th century Barn exhibition space in Stanford Dingley is being resurrected this summer, with a charity art exhibition in aid of Stanford Dingley’s church, St Denis. St Denis’ is one of the oldest in the country, dating to 1066. The art exhibition runs across the bank holiday weekend and the first weekend in September.
We will also be chatting on the phone to Susie Freeman of Susie Freeman Travel and Nathalie Danon of The Vici Language Academy. Jonathan Sayers will also be sharing details about the recent opening of the Greenham Common Control Tower café and museum and exhibition space.
We will be exploring the #UKheatwave and how that is affecting gardens, rivers and farms, how it is affecting the elderly, the very young, animals and pets, as well as businesses and events.
We will also be talking about everything to do with #Englishsummer, and what makes it a great or bad experience, including street fairs, events, festivals, food, and holidays.
We will be chatting to some working parents about how they are coping with the #summerholidays, and hearing about local festivals, new openings and upcoming summer events.
