Free Outdoor Dance Performance in Newbury
This August Bank Holiday Monday expect inventive choreography and stirring music as the Corn Exchange Newbury and international contemporary dance company Ex Nihilo take over the Newbury Market Place with Shapers.
Shapers is an international collaboration that will see eight dancers from Egypt, France, Spain and Morocco come together to explore the town’s Market Place with their distinctive style of exciting choreography and music. Shapers questions our relationship with cities, public spaces and people and has been performed around the world, with each performance being individual to its location and taking inspiration from its surroundings.
Ex Nihilo has been one of the most exciting outdoor dance companies in Europe. Co-directed by Anne Le Batard and Jean-Antoine Bigot, the company is known for exploring public space as a place for performance.
Presented as part of the Corn Exchange’s exciting FREE outdoor arts programme funded by Greenham Trust and Arts Council England, don’t miss your chance to see this original dance performance on Monday 27 August at 2pm.
