Donnington Grove awards mark the end of season

On Saturday 31st October Donnington Grove Gold Club held its annual awards night, with some 35 awards – 8 fun competitions, 6 Knockout competitions, 13 board competitions (so called as the winners’ names are added to various boards in the clubhouse) and finally 8 prestigious Club Championship awards, described as a major club tournament award.

The awards are handed over by the departing club captains, who also presented a cheque for £23,597 to their chosen charity for the season, New Life.

In the board competitions, Ray Ford won the winter singles, Jules Culley the summer singles, summer scratch was won by Nick Hils (for the 5th year running!) and senior player scratch was won by Paul Slatter. The Mens Japan Cup went to Alister Menzies, ladies to Maria Tillet. The Mens Parasampia Cup went to Ian Panting.

Golf is going a bit quiet for the next little while.  Cheer on the better weather…!
