Countdown to Hungerford Charity Auction
The clock’s ticking for an exciting fund-raising charity auction taking place this Saturday, November 20th, at Hungerford Town Hall. The event will be led by actor Nicholas Lumley, who played the part the auctioneer in Downton Abbey, raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The fund-raiser is organised by local stall-holder at the Hungerford Arcade, Ian Spuffard. Ian has a target of £3500 to raise for Macmillan, and will run the London Marathon next year as part of his fund-raising efforts. He has already raised over £1000 with cake sales and sponsorship.
Ian says;
” I have a family member with cancer. The local team have been marvellous with all their support and I would like to give something back to this wonderful organisation”.
Doors open at 6.30 pm for viewing, with the auction starting at 8.00 pm. No commission fees are payable, and there is a requirement to buy a bidding number.
There will be many different lots and something for everyone, with many items donated by colleagues at the Hungerford Arcade. The Auction Catalogue can be found here
