Chris Rackley leaving Thatcham Town FC
After 5 years at Thatcham Town FC goalkeeper Chris Rackley has decided it’s time to move on a face a different challenge.
Speaking to Head Coach Danny Robinson he said, “(in) The four years I have worked with him (Chris) he has improved no end. His safe hands helped us win the FA Vase” furthermore he commented “I like to think that he grew as a player whilst at Thatcham, under coaches such as Joe Wells”
Chris, a changing room motivator who was a very popular character with the lads is wished well for the future by Danny and the club.
A new keeper, Calum Ward from AFC Bournemouth set to join The Kingfishers for the remainder of the season.
Ward, 18, has been with Bournemouth for six years, coming towards the end of a two-year scholarship has been offered a two-year professional contract with the Premier League club. Previously spending time on loan Totton & Eling in the Wessex League Division One and Bashley in the Wessex League Premier.
Upon joining the Kingfishers, Ward said; “I am really looking forward to this new challenge and pushing myself on.”
