A Magical Menagerie at the Corn Exchange, Newbury

Head to the Corn Exchange Newbury on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 May and see Rod Campbell’s classic children’s book, Dear Zoo, jump from page to stage for the very first time.

The popular ‘lift-the-flap’ children’s book follows the story of the child who writes to the zoo asking them to send a pet. Under each flap, a different animal can be discovered until the perfect pet is found. Produced by Norwell Lapley Productions, this new stage adaptation uses engaging puppets, original music and lots of audience interaction to bring the tale to life, providing the perfect bank holiday weekend treat for families with little ones aged 2+.

Dear Zoo, which has delighted generations of young readers since it was first published in 1982 and has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide, celebrated 35 years in circulation in 2017. Author and illustrator, Rob Campbell said
I’m absolutely delighted that Dear Zoo is being brought to life on stage for the very first time!
