A guide to local warm spaces through the week

In response to the cost of living crisis and cold weather, a network of local warm spaces has been set up.

These “warm hubs” have a variety of free refreshments on offer, such as hot drinks, soup, cake, biscuits and baked goods.

They also offer a warm welcome, the ability to work quietly on laptops, play games, chat etc.

The following guide shows which warm spaces are open during the week:

Monday

Thatcham Baptist Church 10.30am–2.30pm

St Mary’s Church, Thatcham 2pm-4pm

St. George’s Church, Wash Common, every Monday & Wednesday mornings, 8:45AM -12PM

St. Mary’s Shaw, on Mondays 11.30 to 4pm.

Fair Close café in Andover Road, Newbury is open between 930am and 11.30am from Monday to Friday.

Tuesday

St Lawrence’s Church, Hungerford 2.30-4.30pm

United Reformed Church, Thatcham 10am-12pm @ United Reformed Church

Glendale church, The Broadway, Thatcham  2pm-4pm

Kennet Christian Centre, Enbourne Road, every Tuesday 1-3PM.

Fair Close café in Andover Road, Newbury is open between 930am and 11.30am from Monday to Friday.

Wednesday
St. George’s Church, Wash Common, every Monday & Wednesday mornings, 8:45AM -12PM

The Speen Community Cafe, The Starting Gate, Speen, 2-5PM

United Reformed Church, High Street, Hungerford 10am -12 noon

Fair Close café in Andover Road, Newbury is open between 930am and 11.30am from Monday to Friday.

United Reformed Church, Thatcham 2-4pm

Thursday
St Nicolas Newbury, town centre, every Thursday 12-4:30PM. This follows the weekly Coffee Morning that starts at 10AM.

Friday

St John the Evangelist’s Church, Newbury 12-1.30pm

Our Lady of Lourdes, Priory Road, Hungerford – every Saturday in January 10 – 11.45am

Sunday

Methodist Church, Bridge Street, Hungerford 12noon – 4pm.

 

Additional warm space openings

Thatcham Library , Hungerford Library and Newbury Library are open five days a week. Why not keep warm while you read a great book?! 

Local churches are open to everyone for their services, including on Sunday, and for much of the week.

The Methodist Church in Hungerford is open 11.30am to 2.30pm for chat and refreshments on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
