Thorngrove school pupils run for Newbury Soup Kitchen
Five pupils of Thorngrove schol, Highclere, are running, walking and cycling to raise funds for Newbury Soup Kitchen.
The pupils want to help those less well-off than themselves. They also figure that after the giving of Christmas, January is a low month for donations to charities such as the Soup Kitchen.
So they have set about each running, walking or cycling 100 kilometres during January.
They aim to raise £2000 for the homeless and vulnerable who attend the soup kitchen. So far they have raised £1750.
The pupils would welcome sponsorship. Please go to their JustGiving page here. While you’ll there, you can track the pupils’ progress. Updates are posted from Strava.
On Kennet Radio’s Saturday Chatterday tomorrow (Saturday 22nd January), Paul Walter will be chatting with the pupils about their fund-raising efforts.
