Newbury’s colourful history reflected in 13 blue plaques around the town
There are now thirteen blue plaques scattered around Newbury which celebrate the town’s varied history.
From a star in the silent movies, a Wimbledon tennis champion and a famous astronomer to the factory where lifeboats were manufactured, to the town’s history in brewing, coaching, woollen cloth, mobile phones and architecture – it’s all commemorated with blue plaques in relevant places around the town.
