Major road closures in Newbury
Kings Road and Boundary Road (southern section) Newbury are to be closed, the closures will be as follows – Kings Road, (closed from 31st May to 1st June) to from its junction with Boundary Road to its junction with Gordon Road, and Boundary Road, (closed from 2nd to 4th June) from its junction with Railway Road to its junction with Kings Road.
For those residents located within the Kings Road closure, there will be the suspension of the One-Way system, so as to allow entry and exit to their properties, to facilitate this ‘Gatemen’ will be present on site to ensure traffic along this route is restricted to residents and other authorised vehicles only.
Where appropriate, It may be necessary to suspend both resident and public parking, so as to improve Two-Way traffic flow. Parking within the works area may well be suspended for obvious reasons.
Access to Hambridge Road will be via Mill Lane (Non HGV traffic), and its junction with A4 (Benham Hill).
HGV’s will be required to enter and exit Hambridge Road via its junction with A4 Benham Hill/London Road.
Access to Boundary Road (southern section) will be via A339, Greenham Road, Stroud Green, as far as the railway bridge.
The purpose of this closure is for the connection of services and resurfacing works.
Residential access will be maintained throughout and the diversion will be signed on site.
