Kennet Radio presenters raise money for local cancer charity

Kennet Radio ‘G&T’ show presenters Graham Pocock and Tony Christian this week presented Karen De Monte of Hope Strength and Courage with a cheque in favour of Newbury Cancer care for £500.

Those were the proceeds from the live G&T Show Supper Disco Event held on February 18th at the Mercure West Grange Hotel. In addition, a further £250 raised on the night was handed to the Thatcham Mayor’s Charity Fund.

Fellow Kennet Radio presenters Chris Pearce and Peter Harris also performed a Retro Disco at the event and due to their combined efforts, the event was a great success.

All Kennet Radio presenters are volunteers at Kennet Radio and, in line with our community involvement in the local area, all profits from ‘G&T’ events are handed out to local charities and good causes. Hope strength and Courage `are planning a new Calendar Girls calendar to include men! – G&T will get behind this later in the year to help raise further funds.

Smashing an initial target of £7,000, Hope Strength and Courage have raised nearly £20,000 for Newbury Cancer Care.
