Join Kennet Radio at the One Community Cricket & Family Fun Day

This Sunday, 5th September, bring your picnic blanket, your deckchairs and your family to the Community United West Berkshire One Community Cricket and Family Fun Day.   

Kennet Radio will there be meeting listeners and providing entertainment at the Wilson Carlisle Cricket  Ground, Enborne Street, Newbury RG14 6RH from 11:00 until 18:00.  (The site entrance is here: https://w3w.co/pulled.rooms.pinks)   

Come along to this FREE entry Family Fun Day event and watch six West Berkshire community teams battle in a cricket competition.

A free community event, open to everyone, it is part of Community United’s Belonging Project.  This project celebrates the beauty of diversity and the strength of inclusion and belonging, through sport, music, food, and family.

Six teams representing the diversity of the West Berkshire community will compete for the One Community Cup, kindly donated by Berkshire Cricket Foundation who have kindly donated medals for all the teams as well. 

The event will be opened by Gulfaz Riaz, Chairman of the National Asian Cricket Council, accompanied by the High Sheriff of the Royal County of Berkshire, Mr Willie Hartley-Russell.  Mr Riaz will also present the medals and Cup at the end. 

Supporting the event is Berkshire Youth with entertainment for younger people

This event would not be complete without food.  You can bring your own, or you can buy delicious food from vendors on site:

  • Fink Street Food will be selling tasty Middle Eastern cuisines;
  • Indian communities will have appetising snacks which are popular locally;
  • Tea and lovely homemade cakes served by Christians Together (CTNA);
  • Dolphin’s Caribbean Catering will have delicious Caribbean food and drink.

Covid testing facilities will be available on-site, as will the mobile vaccination van.
