How to help Thatcham-based aid consignments for Ukrainian refugees

500 Logistics in Thatcham are at the centre of a local aid effort to help Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Trailers loaded with humanitarian supplies have been sent to Poland and more are planned.

You can help, please, by going to the dedicated Just Giving Crowd-Funding page here.

Here’s part of the message from 500 Logistics in Thatcham on the Crowd-Funding page:

“We would love to continue to facilitate the transport for the aid trips and, although we can no longer financially fully fund the vehicles ourselves due to budget and rising fuel costs, we’ve made it our mission to raise enough money for a further two artic trailers. #westandwithukraine

Moving forward, instead of accepting physical donations, we ask that you consider donating financially (even if only a £1) so that we can assist multiple collection points in transporting these donations, that people have worked so hard to arrange, to aid during this time of need.”

Items being accepted currently are:

-Batteries

-Torches

-Special diet non-perishables (gluten or lactose free, vegan)

-Sanitary products

-Nappies and wipes

-Baby food products

-Medical supplies

-Blankets and towels

-Pushchairs

Items can be dropped off at 500 Logistics, Unit 9, Rivermead Business Park, Thatcham RG19 4EP from Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 5.30pm.

On Kennet Radio’s Thursday Breakfast Show this week, Paul will be talking with Steve Dinsey, Director of 500 Logistics. Steve will describe he great support they’ve received from local people and also how there is a fantastic support operation going on in Poland to receive the refugees.
