Half-Light: a radio play to commemorate VE Day 80

An old chest discovered in a dim corner of his mother’s loft holds a number of surprises for John and provides an insight into what VE Day meant to different members of his family. Ultimately, John is faced with a moral dilemma as a part of his mother’s life is revealed to him for the first time.

Set in Newbury and drawing on research into actual events that happened in the town during WW2, Half-light was originally presented at the Control Tower in 2022. It has now been adapted for radio to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day. It will be broadcast by Kennet Radio at 7pm this Friday, May 2nd.
