In Roman times, the River Kennet was probably a boundary between the Atrebates civitas in the south and the Dobunii civitas in the north and Thatcham was a settlement on the road from Silchester to Cirencester and Bath. This talk by archaeologist Dr Andrew Hutt uses archaeological evidence from sites in West Berkshire to understand the lives of the local elite, and the urban and rural communities.

7pm – 8pm, £5. Please phone the museum to buy your ticket.
