Donnington Grove Golf – pro shop Texas Scramble

Held on Saturday 28th March at Donnington Grove Golf Club, for the first time, the pro shop organised a Texas Scramble for its members. It’s a popular format, with players competing in teams (usually two or four members). Everyone hits a tee shot on each hole and each team picks the best ball to play on from, finally recording only the best shot when the ball is holed.

One-hundred and twenty people attended and prizes were awarded to Tony and Rob Hinson and Zhana Powers with Andy Burke, with a net score of 55, and second place to Dave and Jan Torrance, when Gary and Anne Pope also with 55 were beaten on count back, and in third place with 56 to Adrian and Nick Monger, Nick Hills and Jamie Gosling.

While not a charity event, a substantial donation was made to the Captains charity.
