Cheap Street junction now operational
The A339 and Bear Lane works in Newbury have reached a milestone today with the traffic light controlled junction from the A339 southbound into Cheap Street becoming operational. At the same time the southbound entry into Cheap Street from Market Street has been closed, permanently.
Main effect of this change is that all traffic from Market Street and The Market Place wishing to access the Railway station will now have to travel along Bear lane, turn right at the roundabout and then right again into Cheap Street via the new junction.
Until 31st May the new arrangements will be on roadworks.org under the following link Cheap Street Station Access
