West Berkshire increase in reports of car thefts – police advice

The police are reporting a recent increase in reports of thefts of vehicles across West Berkshire.

Thames Valley Police are particularly highlighting keyless car thefts and are asking car owners to consider taking the following range of security measures to protect their vehicle:

-Always lock your vehicle

-Remove any valuables

-Use a steering wheel lock

-Store your key in a Signal Blocking Pouch

-Install a Vehicle Tracker

-Fit a foldable bollard to your driveway

-Have an immobiliser installed

-Install CCTV and a motion sensor light at your property.

The police remind us that if we see a crime in progress we should call 999.

If you have Ring doorbell or webcam footage of recent suspicious activity you should call 101 or contact independent charity Crimestoppers.
