Ship Inn Arts Centre shines in Ashford Hill

Last year, a new arts centre started in Ashford Hill, just across the border in Hampshire, writes Paul Walter.

Recently, I went along to meet members of the committee who run The Ship Inn Arts Centre. It is a charity whose “mission is to share knowledge, love and passion for the creative arts with everyone”.

The building itself is Georgian with lots of great character. It used to be a hotel and pub. Now it is still run as a hotel but the old pub area is used to present music and performances. It boasts a beautiful Baby Grand Piano which is used for examinations by the London School of Music.

The activities of the Ship Inn Arts Centre encompass music, the arts, performances, crafts and wellbeing activities.
