Rail Disruption

All lines have reopened following a person hit by a train between Reading and Bedwyn. Train services between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised until the end of the day.

A person has been hit by a train between Reading and Bedwyn resulting in all lines being closed between these stations.

How is this affecting the train service?

Trains are currently unable to run between Reading and Bedwyn / Westbury. Some trains will be cancelled throughout. 

Trains between London Paddington and Exeter St Davids will be diverted via an alternative route.

Journey times may be extended by up to 60 minutes.

You may use your ticket on Reading buses jetBlack on route 1: Newbury (Wharf), Thatcham (Cropper Close), Midgham, Aldermaston, Theale (The Crown), Reading (Station)

Buses have been requested to run as follows::

  • 1 x Minibus at Westbury to run between Westbury, Pewsey and Newbury
  • 4 x Full size coach at Newbury, one to run between Newbury and Bedwyn, three to run to/from Reading
  • 4 x Full coach size at Reading to run to/from Newbury
