Management restructure at Hungerford Town FC

Hungerford Town Football Club have announced that joint manager Jon Boardman and assistant manager Gary MacDonald have left the club.

In a press release from the club they have said;

Jon, along with fellow senior player Ian Herring, stepped up to the challenge of managing the team in National League South following Bobby Wilkinson’s departure just five games into the new season. Gary MacDonald joined shortly afterwards to help support the management team and players.

A recent reduction in the playing budget however means that the club has had to make a difficult decision to re-structure the management team in order to protect the long-term future of Hungerford Town FC.

The club would like to place on record its thanks and appreciation to both men for their hard work and commitment to the club, particularly Jon Boardman who has been with Hungerford Town throughout its rise from the Southern League into competing at National League level. We wish them both every success in the future and they will always be welcome at Bulpit Lane.

Ian Herring has been placed in sole charge of Hungerford Town and has accepted the challenge to ensure the club stays in the National League South.
