Racegoers are in for a great weekend of racing at this years Ladbrokes Winter Carnival.
It starts on Thursday 28th November with a preview night followed on Friday 29th by the Ladbrokes Winter Carnival Gentlemen’s Day and on Saturday 30th The Ladbrokes Winter Carnival trophy day.
The highlight of Saturday’s racecard is the Ladbrokes Winter Trophy. Formally known as the Hennessy Gold Cup, this signature race been going since 1957 and has taken place at Newbury Racecourse since 1960. In 2017 Ladbrokes became the Sponsor and it became the Ladbrokes Trophy.
The winter carnival weekend attracts top trainers as well as celebrities, and is one of Newbury Racecourse’s highest profile meetings in its racing calendar.
On Tuesday, Newbury Racecourse hosted a gallops morning to give the media an insight into the delights coming up at this years event. Some of the top trainers attended to showcase their horses. See below some pictures taken from the event.
