Greenham Control Tower needs your stories about the peace protest years

Greenham Common Control Tower is now re-open for visits to the viewing chamber and exhibitions on Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00 until 16:00, subject to volunteer availability. This is in addition to the Hot and cold food and drinks Take-Away service, which continues to operate Wednesday to Friday from 1030 until 15:00 and on Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00 until 16:00.

Additionally, the Control Tower has announced that it is planning an exhibition to recognise the arrival of the Greenham Peace Women at the common 40 years ago. On their website, they say:

We feel it is especially important to tell the story of this time from all perspectives, not just the protestors. We would like to hear from anyone who lived, or was based here, during these years. You may have been a protestor, serving in the UK/ US military, a police officer or a local resident. Do you have a memory, a story or an artifact that you would be willing to share with us to help us present an overall image of these times?

Responses can remain anonymous if you wish and any items loaned would be carefully looked after and returned safely .

The exhibition is due to be displayed at the tower in September 2021
