Green investment scheme launched for West Berkshire

West Berkshire Council is launching a scheme to allow residents to invest in local green projects.

The West Berkshire Community Municipal Investment will start on July 16th. It will help to fund green improvements such as installing rooftop solar panels on a building at Greenham Common and on local schools.

Residents can invest as little as £5 but need to be aware of the usual risks associated with such ventures.

The Council hopes that this scheme will give them a good source of income to spend on enhancements to help the environment. It is one of the first of such plans in the country.
