Cheltenham Festival The Park

Cheltenham Festival is known around the world for its high quality horse racing action, but there is more to it than just what goes on over the course.

Of course, the headline of the event will always be the racing action that takes place across the four days of the week in March, but there are extras put on by the organisers that take it to another level.

One of these events is known as ‘The Park’, which is new to the Cheltenham Festival for 2020. Here, racegoers can continue to enjoy themselves at the conclusion of the day’s racing into the evening.

The Park features entertainment throughout the day for punters, as well as feeds of live racing taking place both at the Cheltenham Festival and elsewhere up and down the country, as well as a range of different bars. So there will be somewhere to go to enjoy the Cheltenham results.

There is something there for everybody at The Park at the Cheltenham Festival, with street food stalls located across the area, live music being played and a range of different drinks to try throughout the day.

At the conclusion of the racing, The Park will remain open and a 90-minute DJ set will ensue on each day. For 2020, Tuesday’s DJ is BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw, while Love Island host Laura Whitmore will be present on Wednesday. It’s then the turn of Capital FM DJ’s Roman Kemp and Marvin Humes on Thursday and Friday respectively.

If you have a Cheltenham Festival ticket within the Club Enclosure or Tattersalls Enclosure, you can gain access to The Park for free, while those with different tickets can upgrade to a park ticket for just £15 (increasing to £25 on the day). On Cheltenham Gold Cup day, prices are £20 in advance and £30 on the day.

On The Park, Whitmore said: “I am delighted to be DJing in The Park on Day Two of The Festival. It will be my first time heading to Cheltenham and I have heard it is always great craic! The Park is brand new for 2020, and it is definitely going to be the place to be throughout the week.”

It is a completely unique way to experience the Cheltenham Festival and one which will be sure to provide plenty of fun and entertainment for those who choose to do so.
