Bench Refurbishment in Victoria Park, Newbury

Newbury Town Council has recently worked together with new Premier Inn employees to keep Victoria Park looking beautiful by helping to renovate the benches which are very popular with users of the Park throughout the year.

Around 30 Premier Inn staff worked for over 3 hours, sanding and oiling the benches as part of their launch of the new Premier Inn Hotel in Park Way, Newbury.

Rachel Wootton, Operations Manager at the new Premier Inn Hotel said,

“We’re really excited to be part of Newbury and, as a business which gives back to the communities through our ‘Force For Good’ corporate responsibility programme, wanted to get stuck into an activity which would benefit local people. Victoria Park is a popular area with locals so we thought it was the ideal spot to turn our attention to. Our team members have spent many hours sanding down and repainting Victoria Park’s benches and we’re really pleased with the results”.

Cllr Adrian Edwards, Leader of the Council was impressed with the effort that the team put in saying,

“It’s great to see local businesses contributing to the Community in this way. Victoria Park is our pride and joy and the Town Council would like to thank Rachel and her team for their hard work”.
