An Award Winning Love Story at the Corn Exchange

On Thursday 1 March, multi award-winning Theatre Ad Infinitum return to the Corn Exchange in Newbury with their critically acclaimed theatre show, Translunar Paradise.

A beautiful, life-affirming tale, Translunar Paradise uses intricate and lifelike hand-held masks to take the audience back and forth through time, revealing the loving relationship of two characters, wordlessly conveying a lifetime of memories.

After losing his wife, William attempts to escapes his grief in a paradise of fantasy and reminiscence. Returning in spirit, his wife, Rose, takes him through their poignant love story, providing an uplifting sense of comfort to her widowed companion, and performing one last act of love; helping him let go.

Using masks created by a Madame Tussaud’s senior sculptor, a live accordion accompaniment, and performed by a talented three strong cast, this exquisite piece of mask and movement theatre first premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Festival in 2011, where it played a completely sold out run to critical acclaim. Following this success, the show toured extensively around the UK and Chile, including a sell-out run at the 2012 London International Mime Festival. Translunar Paradise has also won several awards, including The Fringe Review ‘Outstanding Theatre Award’ 2011, and the Argus Angel Award at the Brighton Fringe 2012, and returns to the UK theatre scene in 2018, 7 years after its premiere tour
